Introduction

The last vacation I went to Medellin, I went with my family for 10 days, It took us almost 10 hours to arrive, Medellin has a temperate climate and is one of the largest and most developed cities. I met many important places of Medellin, we learned the history of some places that are nationally recognized, I met the friendliness of its people and customs. Medellin is the capital and most populous city of the department of Antioquia and the second most populous city of Colombia. Medellín was chosen as the most innovative city in the world, under the City of the Year competition, organized by The Wall Street Journal and Citigroup. Medellín received a new award at The Business Destinations Travel Awards contest, organized by Business Destinations; 550 companies and entrepreneurs chose it as the best destination in South America to do business.

My first visit was to Arvi Park is a park that has extreme sports and also near St. Helena, the village where grown all the flowers for flower fair in Medellin. This fair is the most emblematic celebration of the city, of which he becomes a raizal, cultural and historical icon. To go to the park Arvi can only by subway and metrocable was a very good experience because it is evidence of technological development and urban development that has this city. Medellín was the first city in the world to implement a cable car system as a means of public transport full-time, in addition to using it with social projection. Medellín is known for its civility and education, do not eat or drink on the premises of Metro. Nobody pushes anyone to enter or exit the logical order allowing seamless fluidity respected.

Another place to visit is definitely Botero Square, which is exhibited permanently and in public space, 23 monumental sculptures by Fernando Botero. These sculptures are characterized by the interpretation given by the artist to various universal themes (women, men, feelings, passions, pains, beliefs, bad habits, customs, historical events and characters, social and political) on an exalted volume. This square is located in front of the main facade of the Museum of Antioquia, one of the most famous museums in Colombia, in the city center. In its surroundings, the typical dishes of this region, one of which is the arepa. The arepa is an emblematic food Antioquia and Colombia, is part of the Colombian cultural heritage and may be regarded as a symbol of national food drive. The other dish is Bandeja paisa, is regarded by a significant body of opinion in the country as the national dish of Colombia, is characterized by the variety of foods in one dish.

The city also houses the Pies Descalzos park, created by Public Enterprises of Medellín. As is indicated by its name is a typically playful place, aimed at visitors to remove their shoes and enjoy indulging in the middle of town, The purpose of your shoes is contact with nature, through the various sources, the forest of the love (bamboo), the zen garden and park sand, or the surrounding areas. Feeling textures such as stone, sand, grass and finally water.

Medellín is located near Santa Fe de Antioquia department was the capital of Antioquia until April 17, 1826. Santa Fe is a national monument for its admirable and beautiful architecture of the colonial era. To address this place you pass through the tunnel of the West, is the longest tunnel modern Latin America; has 4.6 kilometers long and offers modern security technology and services to users, such as tuning a radio channel exclusive bridge information when you are passing through. Also, Santa Fe de Antioquia has a wooden bridge called West Bridge, is a suspension bridge that connects Colombian municipalities of Olaya and Santa Fe de Antioquia, east and west of the Cauca River, respectively. At the time it was considered the seventh largest worldwide suspension bridge.

The Christmas lights of Medellin is a traditional everyday event which over the years has become a huge party town, full of lights and cultural programming. In 2012: The lighting of Medellin was selected among the ten most amazing cities in the world to commemorate Christmas. This was recognized by the National Geographic website. This is an example of the great development that has Medellín, wide availability of budgetary resources and energy and mass acceptance by both local citizens and for the thousands of tourists make a contribution to progress in this city and a contribution of recognition Colombia .

At the top of the hill Nutibara is the Pueblito Paisa, an allegory of the municipalities of the Paisa Region constructed in 1977. It is a replica of a typical Antiochian town, the church stands on the roofs of mud houses colonial architecture a and two floors. Like any typical village has a fountain and a monument to an important person, in this case, Antioquia writer Tomas Carrasquilla. The buildings that make up the Pueblito Paisa are: The chapel, school, the mayor, the rectory, the tobacconist, the barbershop, the pharmacy, 2 story house and home crafts. Medellín is the largest city in the region paisa called Colombia. As such, the paisa cultural element is expressed in the ways of talking, dressing, constructing, using the market, and the trading of the common medellinense. The same deep regionalism carries in his spirit medellinense as an inhabitant of the region paisa, merely confirm and reinforce that another Colombian identity, "paisa" that permeates the "Capital of the Mountain".

A tourist attraction is undoubtedly Piedra del peñol located in Guatapé, that is a municipality of Colombia, located in the subregion East of Antioquia department, has undergone several changes through history as being essentially livestock , agricultural and mining, in 1970, given the construction of a gigantic dam in its territory became a tourist stronghold. Today, Guatapé has great potential to exploit religious tourism, agrotourism, ecotourism, culture and adventure. The facades of the houses are colorful, decorated with traditional sockets, as the street of Remembrance. The Principal Park is spacious and invites walking the boardwalk, and a varied cuisine offers a peaceful view over the lake and gives one of the biggest attractions to this place: a village between mountains on the banks of a small sea. Piedra del Peñol is a monolith of 220 meters. Currently you can access your summit climbing 649 steps built in the monolith. We planned to paint white the word Guatape in stone; however, as a cultural heritage, only managed painted GI. The stone has become a tourist attraction of the place, near the dam that surrounds it. Thousands of people around the world have visited the place.

Finally, Medellin is one of the most developed cities in Colombia, people are very friendly and rebuscadora, is people who like to help your city and tourists, they have a thick accent and note its paisa regionality. Medellin is a city with many tourist and historical places that make it stand to Colombia to the world.
